Western New South Wales Local Health District (WNSWLHD) developed a service to support the provision of medical services 24/7 in rural communities where local medical officers need support, or where there is no local medical officer available.
Southern New South Wales Local Health District (SNSWLHD) developed a partnership with WNSWLHD to establish their own pilot of the service. Nexus was engaged to develop a plan to guide the monitoring and evaluation of the service in SNSWLHD.
Development of the plan involved consultation with a broad range of stakeholders and numerous workshops with members of both LHDs. The plan set out a program logic and the specific data and measures required so that SNSWLHD can understand whether and how the pilot program is leading to greater access and quality of care for patients in rural areas.
