The work:
Nexus was commissioned by NSW Health to review a long-standing program to reduce the numbers of inappropriately disposed ‘sharps’: needles and syringes used by people who inject drugs.
Nexus recommended the adoption of a new program logic to clarify the program’s intended outcomes and proposed the program shift to equipping key players, including councils and Local Health Districts, with the tools and resources to manage sharps locally.
