Monitoring and evaluation of a pilot menopause service

In the 2022-23 budget, the NSW government announced $40.3 million in funding to improve care for women managing severe and/or complex menopause symptoms. Part of this funding has been provided to the Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) to establish a network of services that will provide expert advice and assistance to women managing severe and/or complex menopause across NSW.

Nexus was commissioned to develop a framework to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the statewide initiative. The plan incorporates quantitative and qualitative measures across the four domains of Value Based Healthcare – patient outcomes, patient experience of care, clinician experience of delivering care and sustainability/efficiency.

The framework was informed by a series of workshops with consumers and other key stakeholders, including clinicians and health service managers.
