Client: Mental Health Commission of NSW
The work:
The Mental Health Commission of NSW was established in 2012 and a new Commissioner was appointed in 2017 to guide its second five year cycle.
The new Commissioner engaged Nexus to conduct a review of the Commission’s operations to recommend improvements to its workflows, role definition and responsibilities and work systems and processes.
The review was highly collaborative and enabled all staff to contribute via survey, individual interviews and group discussions. The review recommendations were developed in consultation with staff and led to reforms in:
- the Commission’s strategic planning
- internal communications
- the role of middle managers
- the Commission’s work allocation processes.
